Diana Starkova

to see you in a martial arts movie that would combine your love of cinema with your growing passion for martial arts?

Diana:  Ah I would really love to play in a movie that I can express my karate performances, but for now all my roles are in dramatic movies.  Most film directors see me as a dramatic actress, but a role with some action, would be really cool!

Andrew:  One of your passions has always been languages.  I’m starting to learn Italian, Spanish & French but you are already fluent in six languages, which is very impressive.  The last time we spoke you were studying French linguistics at a University & working hard to learn the Czech language.  Have you tried to master another language?  Korean?  Turkish?

Diana:  Yes, I do really enjoying speaking many languages, and when I travelled to Spain and Italy, I understood that these languages were so similar to French, so I can learn them in the future.  For now I am learning Turkish; it is very new and different for me as it is from the Altay group of languages, so it doesn't come to me very easy, but I am trying my best!  As for Korean, I honestly have to say that Asian languages are really difficult for Europeans, so I am not going to try to learn it; I just know a very few basic sentences.  But generally I think I will always go on learning more and more languages.  By the time I understood that famous Russian writer Anton Chekhov was right when he said, “As many languages you know, as many times you are a human being," so the explanation is very simple because for example, some languages has words for some things like middle of apple, and some languages has not, and for a person who learn many languages it really comes very interesting.

Andrew:  You are so young yet you have a long history working in the fashion industry; not just as a model.  I know you worked as a beauty-editor at “KOSMO news” where you played an intricate role in expanding its horizons with your expansive vision & making it one of the best beauty magazines in the Ukraine with a readership of over 100,000 people; from a tiny acorn rose the mighty oak.  You parleyed this experience into a beauty-editor position with L’Oreal.  Since we last spoke have you taken on the beauty-editor role with other corporations on other fashion projects?  Is the role of beauty-editor one that you see yourself taking on in the future?

Diana:  Ah it was really amazing experience to be a beauty-editor in a magazine and
